New in Version 4 of Easy Download Protector™ Once again we've been hard at work packing yet more features into the web's leading ClickBank and PayPal protection script Here's some of what's new in EDP Version 4. Simplified Control Panel When you login to Easy Download Protector™ you'll immediately notice that the Main Control Panel has been simplified. Gone are rarely used buttons and links related to the initial set up (now professionally handled by our installer anyway). Instead you'll find one obvious button to log in to view and/or control your customer list. Here's how the new display looks:
Of course all the other options still exist, but
don't occupy as much screen space. Options Over How Many Customers To Display Per Page And

In addition we've also added a search function, so that you can locate that specific customer via FIRST, LAST or EMAIL ADDRESS. Thanks to these upgrades it's never been easier to locate the customer you needed.
How To Take Advantage Of These Upgrades Minor Bug Fix
We've been busily enhancing Easy Download Protector™ and the new features confirm our script as the best on the market when it comes to setting up a ClickBank or PayPal based membership or download area. Here are some of the enhancements we've made in v3. Expiring Membership Area With version 3 of Easy Download Protector™ you can set a membership expiry period from just 1minute to 20 years! (technical note, cron tasks run every ten minutes, so emails may lag behind particularly short expiry periods measured in 10 minutes or less). Now there are other scripts on the market that boast this feature, but there are none which also send out emails inviting your customer to sign up again -- all automatically. Here's how it works: Under Extended Options (that you can simply ignore if you don't want to ever have your download area expire for your customers) you can select how long Easy Download Protector™ should wait before terminating your customers access. At the time of expiry an email (customizable by you or you can just use the pre-programmed version) will be sent alerting your customer to the fact that they no longer have access.
So far so good, but here's the clever part... In addition to the email sent at the moment of expiry, you can also ask Easy Download Protector™ to send out an email in advance of the expiry time, warning your customer the access will shortly cease and inviting them to sign up again. Then, after access has already been terminated, Easy Download Protector™ will optionally email your previous customer again, remind them that their access has ended and give them a final chance to sign up one last time. But get this... On each occasion your customer is given a link back to your sales page (or you can use a bespoke link just for returning customers if you prefer) encouraging them to re-purchase access to your product and when they do buy again (using their original email address), their previously inactive account is switched back on. Better still, let's say you have a customer who is a member and you warn them that their access to your site will expire in say 1 week's time. EDP will even email and let them know that if they purchase additional access at that moment in time (1 week ahead of expiry), then the additional time purchased will be added to the 1 week they still have left. In other words, there's no need for your customer to wait until the last moment to re-purchase access to your membership area because the script will add the remaining time left to their new purchase. Real life example of expiring membership
feature in action... But I do have one product called 'Ezine Editors List' where I only sell 6 months access to the database of Ezine Editors at any one time. In other words, I suspend access to my customers after they've had six months worth of updates (or access). Now with v3 Easy Download Protector™ I simply set the Extended Options so that their account expires 6 months after purchase. Of course they receive an email to alert them to the fact that their account is inactive at that time and encouraging them to re-purchase my product. But in addition, I also have EDP set to remind them 2 weeks prior to their access terminating and then 1 week after they have actually been suspended. Once set up, the entire process is
automated and I see the same customers coming back to purchase ongoing
access. Inactive accounts are now automatically grayed
out

It's completely inexplicable why the USA ever adopted this format. It simply doesn't make sense and now we've extended the capability of Easy Download Protector™ to allow you to use the US format, the UK format of Day/Month/Year (used by the UK and most of the rest of the world) and the International Format of Year/Month/Day.
